Conversion tracking used to mean pasting a pixel into the theme. That approach now loses a growing share of data. Browsers limit cookies, shoppers block scripts, consent banners stop tags from firing and headless storefronts break the assumptions that platform pixels were built on. Ad platforms then optimize on partial data and your reports undercount what marketing delivered.
We rebuild tracking so purchase and funnel events are captured reliably, sent with the right consent signals and shared with the tools that need them. The work starts with an audit of what you track today, because most brands have duplicate tags, stale pixels and events that fire twice on some pages and never on others.
What the work includes
- Server-side tagging. A server container that receives events from your site and platform, then forwards them to analytics and ad platforms under your control.
- Platform conversion APIs. Purchase and lead events sent to Meta, Google, TikTok and others through their server-side APIs, with deduplication against browser events.
- Consent integration. Your consent banner wired into every tag so each visitor's choice is respected and recorded.
- Headless support. Event tracking built into custom front ends, where the platform's default pixels do not run.
- Data quality checks. Monitoring that compares tracked orders with platform orders and flags drift.
Attribution you can use
No attribution model is the truth. Each ad platform claims credit generously, and last click undervalues anything that starts a journey. We help your team pick a working view, usually combining analytics data, platform reporting and new customer counts, and document how to read it. The goal is better budget decisions, not a perfect number.
For larger channels, we can also help design simple holdout or geo tests. They are the most direct way to see whether a channel drives sales that would not have happened anyway.
For product analytics and event data you own, we often add PostHog alongside GA4. Good tracking starts with a sound GA4 configuration, and it matters most on a headless storefront. This work is part of our conversion rate optimization service, since tests are only as good as the data that scores them.
