UI design is the visual layer of the store. It covers how products, prices, buttons, forms and content look and respond on every screen size. Good UI makes the brand recognizable and the next step obvious. Weak UI either looks generic or looks great in a presentation and falls apart when real products, long names and sale prices arrive.
We design for production from the first screen. That means working with real data, covering the states shoppers will actually see and organizing files so a developer can build from them without a long list of questions.
What production-ready means
- Every key template. Home, collection, product, cart, account, search and content pages, plus the checkout and email touchpoints your platform lets you style.
- Responsive layouts. Mobile first, with defined behaviour at each breakpoint rather than a desktop design squeezed down.
- States and edge cases. Sold out, on sale, low stock, errors, empty carts, loading and very long product names.
- Components and specs. Screens built from shared components, with spacing, type and colour values developers can inspect.
- Assets. Icons, image crops and export settings ready to use.
Brand and conversion together
Brand teams want the site to feel distinctive. Ecommerce teams want it to sell. The two rarely conflict for long once both are working from the same evidence. We bring in findings from UX research and analytics, apply your brand with care and keep commerce patterns familiar where shoppers expect them, such as add to cart, filters and checkout.
Accessibility is designed in. We check contrast, text size, focus states and touch targets against WCAG as we go, so issues are not left for a later audit and fixed under deadline pressure. Deeper reviews run under accessibility and ADA compliance.
Handover
Designs are delivered in organized Figma files with components, variables and annotations. We stay involved during development to answer questions and review builds against the design, which keeps what launches close to what was approved.
UI work builds on UX design and wireframing and prototyping, and a design system keeps it consistent over time. It sits within our customer journey and UX design service.
