How we build composable ecommerce experiences with Square.
Square suits brands selling in person as well as online. The hard part is never the payments. It is keeping stock, orders and customer records the same in both places.
We connect Square to your commerce platform and back office so retail and digital stop being separate businesses with separate numbers. If your shop floor and your storefront disagree on what is in stock, that is the problem worth fixing first.
Is Square right for my ecommerce brand?
Who it's for
Brands selling in a physical space as well as online, where stock and customer history need to be the same in both places.
Retail stores, showrooms and pop ups
Brands selling at markets and events
Businesses where staff need to sell from anywhere in the room
What it solves
In-store and online inventory disagree
Customer records exist twice with no link between them
Retail and digital report separate, irreconcilable numbers
Stock is oversold because channels update at different times
Common questions about integrating Square for your ecommerce brand.
How do we keep online and in store inventory in sync?
By having one system hold the truth and everything else read from it. Problems start when the store and the website each keep their own count and reconcile nightly. For most mid-market brands the answer is a single stock source feeding both, not two systems agreeing after the fact.
Does Square work with Shopify or BigCommerce?
It can, through integrations that sync catalogue, stock and orders. How clean that sync is depends on how your products and variants are modelled on both sides. Getting the data model right first saves a lot of manual correction later.
What is omnichannel retail actually worth?
The measurable part is usually stock. Selling something you do not have, or holding stock the other channel could have sold, is a direct cost. The less measurable part is that customers who buy both online and in store tend to be worth more over time.
Can we see one customer record across online and in store?
Only if you deliberately connect the two. It is worth doing, because otherwise your lifecycle marketing treats your best in store customers as if they had never bought anything. This is one of the more common gaps we find.
How long does a Square integration take?
Three to six weeks for most brands. The connection is not the hard part. Reconciling how products, variants and stock locations are named and structured in both systems is, especially where the store catalogue grew separately from the website.
