The Canadian Association of Pharmacy in Oncology (CAPhO) site supports a national forum for oncology pharmacy practitioners and other healthcare professionals. CAPhO promotes professional practice standards, facilitates communication between pharmacists and health professionals, advocates for pharmacy oncology as an area of speciality practice, and conducts educational events. CAPhO represents the professional interests and issues of Canadian oncology pharmacy at a national level.
The previous CAPhO website lacked a the contemporary design and functionalities which are integral to this organizations as a their national platform for resources and communication. CAPhO needed the wow factor and the functionality of a big website within a smaller budget.
The Jibe implemented an existing Drupal template in order to focus energy on the required functionality of the CAPhO site, and minimize the cost of developing a personalized design. The site has an updated look and prioritizes usability and resource access to members.
The CAPhO site features three tiers of content accessibility. A resource library with filtered search is open access to anonymous site visitors, whereas the site back-end is enabled with a members login for networking on a gated forum. A subset of committee members have additional access. Data migration and archiving was central to the CAPhO site project, and every National Oncology Pharmacy Symposium presentation video has been catalogued in a repository for continued access. Further updates since the site launch have included a blog, quiz feature, and social icons. The project was successfully coordinated through Sea to Sky Meeting Management Inc.
