A few months ago, Wrenna Robertson and Whelm King approached us with a unique project. They just had started their publishing business, Show Off Books, and were in the process of completing their first title, I’ll Show You Mine, which is “a photo study of female genitalia and a window into women's experiences of their genitals”.
The website we were to build was to be used primarily to sell the book and provide information about the social issues that have been brought to light through the creation and publication of the book. The stigma-breaking subject, educational approach and vision convinced us to take on this project.
One of the most compelling features of the site (and the book) are the personal and revealing stories that the models have shared. These inspirational stories are there to serve as a stepping stone in the hope that they will inspire “communication based on shared experience in the recognition that true empowerment is achieved not only through knowledge but through relationship”.
The Show Off Books site was launched two weeks ago and is accepting pre-orders for the mid-February release of their first title. It has been a true pleasure to work with the Wrenna and Whelm. We are looking forward to their successes and to working with them in the future.
