Salesforce: Becoming Bigger

Salesforce a cloud-based software has announced this week that it would acquire Demandware, an eCommerce service cloud-based provider. This acquisition is also bringing a new business division, the Salesforce Commerce Cloud. With the deal being 2.8 billion, that is huge news for the eCommerce industry!

Advertising on Instagram

Hot off the heels of their updated logo and interface, Instagram announced this week it will now allow businesses to create special profiles that will allow their customers to contact them directly, rather than posting public comments. Basically, you will be able to turn posts into advertisements. Pretty cool, right? We think the 200,000 advertisers on Instagram and majority of small businesses will think so.

VR Glasses Date Night

I love going to movie theater, don't you? Pretty soon, you might be able to feel like you're at the movies right from the comfort of your own home. Jules Urbach, the CEO of OTOY has been working conjointly with ODG to create new VR glasses with high resolution, calling them the R-7. Jules states that these glasses are so high tech,watching a movie with the glasses will make you feel like being in a movie theatre.

eCommerce in Europe

Looking for a new market to enter? Have you ever considered Europe? eCommerce in Europe is a booming sector that will reach €509.9 (CAD$745) billion in 2016. Marlene ten Ham, secretary general at eCommerce Europe, thinks it's a promising outlook for the eCommerce industry but she affirms that "the full potential of the European eCommerce market has not yet been reached."
