This upcoming weekend members of our team will be speaking at the Pacific-Northwest Drupal Summit, held this year in Vancouver.

Steve Krueger has been a member of the Drupal community since 2007 and is a lead organizer of this year’s event. He will be presenting with Leah Marsh, our newest team member, on “Using Bourbon and Bourbon Neat with Sass.” Their presentation will cover the use of Bourbon as a predefined library of mixins that work with Sass to provide for greater efficiency across a diversity of projects. Steve and Leah will demonstrate the capabilities of the library, as well as how to build the structure of a responsive webpage using the grid framework of Bourbon Neat. Don’t forget your hip flask!

Ben Holt most recently spoke at the Vancouver Drupal Business Summit in 2012. He will be leading a hands-on presentation, “Getting the most out of Search API, Solr, and Views.” Ben will be reviewing the benefits of Drupal integration with Solr, such as increased performance and scalability of website search, and will be walking through a typical to more advanced implementation.

Francis Pilon will be demonstrating a new project developed by The Jibe, “Building a Task-Focused Collaborative Platform for K12.” The platform is based on the concept of ‘learning paths,’ which bundle tasks by tying them to a particular learning objective and badge. Francis first brought this platform to light at the Association for the Advancement of Computing in Education’s EdMedia conference this past spring in Victoria, and will be bringing it to E-LEARN 2013 world conference on e-learning later this month in Las Vegas.
