eCommerce Infographics: Opportunities for Online Retailers

In February we looked at global opportunities for online retailers and found that shoppers across the globe are becoming increasingly confident in purchasing goods online. Roughly 42% of the world’s population has access to the internet and it’s expected that mobile will push internet penetration beyond 50% by late 2016.

eMarketer suggests that average order values grew faster on smartphones than on any other device. Meanwhile, average revenue per visit was up 147.0% on smartphones—far higher than the growth rate on tablets and PCs.

In addition, with mobile-oriented services like WhatsApp, WeChat and Facebook Messenger achieving the top social media ranking spots in some of the world’s biggest economies, it’s clear that much of our digital behaviour is now revolving around smartphones.
